(NEWARK, N.J.) — The Coast Guard is not able to keep up with all of its security duties, the Star-Ledger newspaper of Newark reported. The Government Accountability Office said the Coast Guard hasn’t kept pace in areas including vessel escorts and port security. The Coast Guard’s resources are stretched too thin, and the Coast Guard hasn’t even met it own targets, the report said.
