Newark Bay closed after freighter collides with dredge

(NEWARK, N.J.) — A 669-foot freighter carrying orange juice collided with a dredging vessel in Newark Bay, the Associated Press reported. Five people were evaculated from the dredge, which was taking on water, the Coast Guard said. A second dredge got out of the way just in time to avoid the collision. Afterward, Newark Bay was closed indefinitely.
