New Jersey approves proposed offshore wind farm near Atlantic City

(ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.) — State officials have approved an offshore wind farm that would be just 2.8 miles from Atlantic City, the Star-Ledger newspaper of Newark reported. The Fishermen’s Energy project, consisting of just six turbines, has a chance to be the nation’s first offshore wind facility to actually have its equipment installed. It would produce enough energy to power 10,000 homes.
