Navy to probe Littoral Combat Ship design after crack in hull

(WASHINGTON) — The first Littoral Combat Ship built by Lockheed Martin developed a hull crack during sea trials, Bloomberg News reported. The 6-inch crack along a welding seam below the waterline leaked five gallons per hour. The Navy has decided to open an investigation into the design and welding procedures.
