Mystic Seaport relaunches historic whaler Charles W. Morgan

(MYSTIC, Conn.) — Charles W. Morgan, believed to be the last wooden whaling ship in the world, was relaunched Sunday to cannon fire and the cheers of thousands of spectators, The New York Times reported. The event culminated a five-year, $7 million restoration of the vessel, which was built in 1841. Sarah Bullard, a Morgan descendant, christened the ship.
