Missing Maine water taxi found damaged on beach

(PORTLAND, Maine) — A missing Portland water taxi was found badly damaged on a beach in Kennebunk on Friday morning, with no sign of the pilot believed to have taken out the boat two days earlier, the Portland Press Herald reported. Authorities said the search for the operator, Adam Patterson of Cape Elizabeth, is now considered a recovery operation. The 24-foot boat was found capsized and partially buried in the sand of Parsons Beach in Kennebunk about 20 miles south of Portland.
