Massachusetts postpones $91M plan to acquire wind-turbine ship

(BOSTON) — The Patrick administration has postponed a $91 million plan to acquire a ship that specializes in installing offshore wind turbines, the Boston Herald newspaper reported. Critics suspected that taxpayer money was being used to buy a vessel for the Cape Wind project, but an administrative officials denied that. A Cape Wind spokesman said the company plans to use existing jackup barges and doesn’t need the ship.
