(MARINETTE, Wis.) — The Navy plans to order 10 Littoral Combat Ships from Marinette Marine, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel newspaper reported. The announcement is expected to create thousands of new jobs in Wisconsin and Michigan. Marinette was thought to be competing with Austal USA, but the Navy has decided to split the contract and order 10 vessels each from both companies.
