Lockheed Martin, Austal win U.S. Navy orders for more Littoral Combat Ships

(WASHINGTON) — Lockheed Martin and Austal have won orders to build more Littoral Combat Ships for the U.S. Navy, Reuters reported. Each company will build two more vessels, the Department of Defense said. Lockheed Martin will build two steel monohull LCSs and Austal two more aluminum trimaran versions, and all of these ships are to be delivered by 2018.
