(MARIETTA, Ohio) — The last remaining steam-powered sternwheel towboat needs some unexpected extra restoration work, the Marietta Times newspaper reported. Crews rebuildng the W.P. Snyder Jr. found that more of the vessel’s framing was rusted than they thought, and they are replacing more plating. The 92-year-old river workhorse will not be back at its Marietta dock until September.
