Laker runs aground in Welland Canal after bow thruster fails

(ST. CATHARINES, Ontario) — A malfunctioning bow thruster caused a laker to run aground in the Welland Canal, The Standard newspaper of St. Catharines reported. The John D. Leitch floated again after repairs were made. The vessel is owned by Seaway Marine Transport.
