(ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland) — A freighter that carries supplies to Labrador ran aground on its first voyage of the season, The Telegram newspaper of St. John’s reported. Astron, an 80-foot vessel, grounded 10 miles east of Cartright. All 13 crew abandoned ship in a lifeboat and were rescued by the Canadian Coast Guard.
