(PORT ORCHARD, Wash.) — At least a dozen 27-foot patrol vessels built by SAFE Boats International are headed to Iraq, where the Iraqi navy will use them to protect the nation’s 35-mile coastline, the Kitsap Sun newspaper reported. As a result of increased orders, SAFE Boats is expanding production and hiring more staff at its facilities in Washington state.
