Iran says Maersk ship was seized over legal dispute

(LONDON) — Iran's foreign minister said Wednesday that the detention of Maersk Tigris by the Iranian navy is linked to a legal dispute, BBC News reported. Javad Zarif said that Maersk, which charters the containership, had been ordered by an Iranian court to pay damages to a private firm. The ship was seized Tuesday in the Strait of Hormuz with 24 crewmembers on board.
