Icom M506 wins 2015 NMEA Award for best marine VHF radio

Icom America announces its recent award for Best Marine VHF Radio presented by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA). Icom's M506 fixed mount transceiver was recognized for its excellence at the 2015 NMEA Conference and Expo in Baltimore, Md. The M506 also won Best Marine VHF Radio at the 2014 NMEA event.

For two years in a row, Icom's M506 received an award in the NMEA's VHF marine radio category. The M506 was recognized for its advanced options in NMEA 0183/2000 connectivity, built-in AIS (depending on model) and its intuitive user interface. The radio also features Class D DSC, "Last Call" voice recording/playback and active noise cancelling. Five M506 versions are currently available to complement the requirements of any recreational and commercial boater.

"Icom thanks all our dealers and the NMEA for all their support as we couldn't get this prestigious award without them," says David McLain, Icom America National Sales Manager – Marine & Avionics.
