Hawaii Superferry, 4 other ships hired for Haiti duty (PHOTO)

(HONOLULU) — A former Hawaii Superferry and four other ships have been hired for Haiti earthquake relief duty, the Star-Bulletin newspaper reported. The MV Huakai was built at Austal USA in Alabama but was never actually used in Hawaii. The U.S. Department of Transportation said other ships headed to Haiti include the Gopher State, Petersburg, Cornhusker State and Cape May.
