Green Shipping Line, Kongstein partnering on US offshore wind project

(NEW YORK) — A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Kongstein (Norway/Germany) and Green Shipping Line (United States). Together the companies will provide a complete offshore wind farm supply solution in the United States which will include consultancy services, a U.S. Jones Act compliant shuttle service as well as development opportunities at several U.S. ports.

Green Shipping Line has designs for U.S.-built feeders which are ready for construction at Moran Iron Works in Onaway, Mich. These newly built Jones Act-compliant vessels will offer reliable, economic and frequent transport from American ports to the various states' wind farm installations.

Kongstein, with office locations in Norway and Germany, is a leader in the design of green propulsion solutions for the maritime and renewables industries. It has been instrumental in building up Germany´s offshore wind generating capacity exceeding 6 gigawatts. Kongstein has been instrumental in every phase of the wind farm life-cycle: from early-stage wind farm planning all the way through decommissioning.
