(WHEELING, W.V.) — The Mississippi and Ohio rivers may lose their last remaining steam paddleboat licensed to carry overnight passengers, The Intelligencer newspaper of Wheeling reported. The Delta Queen’s federal safety exemption expires Nov. 1. The wooden Majestic America vessel had been operating under a 40-year exemption that the House of Representatives in April voted not to extend.
