Four injured when New York Pilot boat, freighter collide

(STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.) — Four crewmembers on a New York Pilot boat suffered minor injuries Tuesday when their vessel collided with a cargo ship about 16 miles from the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Staten Island Advance reported. The incident occurred when the boat was pulling alongside the freighter so a pilot could board the ship. An official from the Sandy Hook Pilots said a mechanical problem was the likely cause.
