Ferry loses steering, strikes another at Woods Hole

(WOODS HOLE, Mass.) — A Steamship Authority ferry lost steering Wednesday and hit another ferry docked at the Woods Hole Terminal, CapeCod.com reported. M/V Governor was approaching an empty slip at about 1140 when the vessel lost steering due to a stalled engine, striking M/V Martha's Vineyard, the authority reported. There were no injuries, but M/V Governor sustained minor damage to the superstructure and M/V Martha’s Vineyard had a 12-inch crack in the hull plate.
