Families of El Faro's Polish crew sue TOTE

(MIAMI) — Attorneys on Monday filed suit against TOTE Maritime, owner of the sunken cargo ship El Faro, and the estate of its captain on behalf of the families of five Polish crewmembers, CBS Miami reported. The Polish mariners were among 33 crew who died when the ship sank off the Bahamas last month during Hurricane Joaquin. The primary claim of the suit, the fifth related to the sinking, is that Capt. Michael Davidson kept sailing even after warnings that Joaquin would rapidly intensify into a strong hurricane.
