Emergency dredging gets barge traffic moving again in Minnesota (VIDEO)

(WABASHA, Minn.) — Emergency dredging by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has reopened a stretch of the upper Mississippi River from Wabasha to Winona, Minn., KTTC reported. Commercial shipping had been stalled by large deposits of sediment left behind by flooding earlier this year. More than 350 waiting barges are now free to carry their commodities south.
