The following is text of a news release from Eastern Shipbuilding Group:

(PANAMA CITY, Fla.) — For monetary support for Eastern Shipbuilding Employees hardest hit by Hurricane Michael, Eastern has opened a “Go Fund Me” account to assist its needy employees to overcome their mounting recovery expenses. All funds will be directly distributed to the employees.

Hurricane Michael devastated the Panama City area and surrounding communities on Oct. 10. After many requests from our marine industry customers, vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow community leadership looking for a way to directly help our employees, we are creating this fund to help the employees of Eastern Shipbuilding Group who suffered losses from the hurricane and provide financial resources to help rebuild their lives. Thank you from our president, Joey D’Isernia.

Eastern has been receiving overwhelming outreach from the marine industry community with assistance. Visit our website, www.easternshipbuilding.com, for updates as we move forward. Thank you all for your contributions, concerns and support.
