Dockside ‘sculpture’ funded by rival blocks Carnival ship (PHOTO)

(SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico) — A dockside canopy-like sculpture prevented a Carnival cruise ship from docking at San Juan, USA Today reported in its Cruise Log blog. The sculpture was part of a $30 million facelift at the terminal and was partially funded by Carnival rival Royal Caribbean. The Carnival Dream had to turn back because the structure would have pierced life boats and safety rafts, a Carnival spokesman said.
