Detroit tugboat operator: ‘Worst year we’ve ever seen’ (PHOTOS)

(DETROIT) — Great Lakes vessels carried 35 percent less cargo in 2009 than the year earlier, the Detroit News reported. One Detroit tugboat company said it was the “worst year we’ve ever seen.” The Lake Carriers Association said this year will probably be better due to federal stimulus spending boosting demand for steel and construction materials.
