Deck hand dies after falling off Ohio River ferry

(CINCINNATI) — An 81-year-old Anderson Ferry deck hand died Tuesday after falling into the Ohio River, Cincinnati.com reported. Authorities said Virgil Souder fell overboard at about 1400 and was pulled out of the water 30 minutes later by a tugboat two miles downriver. The water temperature was in the low 40s and Souder was not wearing a life jacket, emergency responders said.
