Cruise ship gets trapped in St. Lawrence River ice for 30 hours

(MONTREAL) — A cruise ship carrying 300 passengers for a ski tour of the Gaspe Peninsula got stuck in ice for 30 hours in the St. Lawrence River, the Canadian Press reported. The Coast Guard icebreaker Terry Fox also was trapped briefly before it was able to free the cruise ship C-T-M-A Vacancier and one other vessel at Matane, Quebec.
