Coast Guard plans ATON changes in Wash. harbor

The following is the text of a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard:

(SEATTLE) — Coast Guard aids to navigation crews are scheduled to place a new floating aid to navigation in the entrance to Drayton Harbor near Blaine to mark the shoal water on the west side of the entrance, the week of Feb. 23.

The aid will be an unlighted red nun buoy, numbered "6" and assigned Light List number 19927.

Blaine Small Boat Harbor Light 2, LLNR 19930, will be renumbered to Blaine Small Boat Harbor Light 8 to maintain the numerical progression as mariners transit into the harbor.

These changes are expected to occur simultaneously during the last two weeks of February, weather permitting.

A broadcast notice to mariners will be issued upon completion. Chart and light list corrections will be issued in the subsequent local notice to mariners. The Coast Guard 13th District local notice to mariners is available for download here.
