Coast Guard detains La. tug crewmen for outstanding warrants

(NEW ORLEANS) — The Coast Guard detained two crewmembers with outstanding wants and warrants from the Towing Vessel M.Z. Chibb near Boothville, Louisiana Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon conducted a routine safety examination of the Towing Vessel M.Z. Chibb on the Mississippi River near Boothville, Louisiana at approximately 2:30 p.m., Wednesday. The Coast Guard boarding team discovered that the M.Z. Chibb’s captain and one of its crewmembers had outstanding wants and warrants, and detained both individuals. The Coast Guard transferred custody of both crewmembers to the Plaquemines Parish Sherriff’s Office in Duvic, Louisiana.
