Coast Guard closes Illinois River for Army Corps dredging project

The following is the text of a press release issued by the U.S. Coast Guard:
 
(BEARDSTOWN, Ill.) — The Coast Guard has closed a portion of the Illinois River, Tuesday, for dredging operations.
The Army Corp of Engineers is conducting dredging operations between mile markers 87.6 to 88 on the Illinois River. The river will be closed from 6 p.m., Tuesday, until 6 p.m., Wednesday, to all commercial and recreational traffic.
An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast has been issued. Mariners needing to contact the Coast Guard can do so on VHF channel 16.
