(NEW ORLEANS) — The cruise ship Carnival Dream rescued 39 Cuban migrants from a small boat Wednesday night, The Times-Picayune reported. The ship was en route to Jamaica when personnel on the bridge spotted the vessel in distress, Carnival said in a statement. A U.S. Coast Guard spokesman said a cutter was deployed to take over custody of the migrants, who were given food and water on the cruise ship.
