(VERO BEACH, Fla.) — Towboats and barges should be an integral part of Florida’s inland port plan, a retired captain wrote in a letter to the editor of the Vero Beach Press-Journal newspaper. He says one barge on the Intracoastal Waterway could replace the equivalent of 90 trucks on Interstate 95.
