Captain barely able to swim to safety as Ohio River towboat sinks

(WURTLAND, Ky.) — A towboat pilot struggled to swim to safety after his vessel sank in the Ohio River, television station WSAZ reported. It took about 20 minutes for the captain of the Joann McGinnis to swim to the river bank because of the rough river conditions. He was hospitalized and recovered.
