Canadian Wheat Board to acquire 2 bulk carriers for $65M

(WINNIPEG, Manitoba) — The Canadian Wheat Board will acquire two bulk carriers for $65 million, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. The ships will be operated by Seaway Marine Transport in partnership with Algoma Central Corp. and Upper Lakes Group Inc. Canada’s recent removal of a 25 percent tariff on new ships helped to make the arrangement possible.
