(WINDSOR, Ontario) — A Canadian Coast Guard ship rescued a U.S. Coast Guard cutter and an American freighter trapped in ice last weekend on Lake Erie, The Windsor Star reported. The cutter Bristol Bay was heading to free the freighter Arthur M. Anderson when it also found itself beset by some of the thickest ice in years on the Great Lakes. Canada's Griffon responded and freed both ships.
