(HOUSTON) — Bureau Veritas has published new rules for Polar Class vessels, the news website Oil Online reported. The classification society noted in particular new guidance on the interaction between the vessel structure and ice. The new guidelines will be useful to the offshore oil industry as it pushes into Arctic territories, and an icebreaker rating will be available.
