(EASTPORT, Maine) — The U.S. Coast Guard has prohibited a Cyprus-flagged ship from sailing, the Bangor Daily News newspaper reported. The Margit Gorthon has been halted at Eastport due to an undisclosed alleged pollution-control violation, and the U.S. Attorney is involved. The 463-foot ship had sailed from Nova Scotia and has been loaded with wood pulp and was scheduled to depart next for Spain.
