Boxship stalls in Pacific, may need tow to Hawaii

(HONOLULU) — A Matson containership en route to Oahu from California has stalled due to a mechanical problem and may need to be towed to the islands, Hawaii News Now reported. The ship stalled about 480 nautical miles from Honolulu with 21 people on board and cargo that includes perishables. An emergency generator is running for the crew as they try to complete repairs.
