(PARKERSBURG, W.V.) — The bobcat that stowed away on an Ohio River barge had been seen recently at the Willow Island Locks and Dam, the News and Sentinel newspaper reported. The bobcat was discovered Monday on a barge being towed by Ingram Barge Co.’s boat Vernon C. Smith. Another mariner had photographed the animal running across the Willow Island Locks on Feb. 17, and it was spotted running across at least one barge in the area at that time.
