As anniversary approaches, Cosco Busan spill triggers safety talk

(SAN FRANCISCO) — As mariners prepare to mark the first anniversary of the Cosco Busan disaster, they say the oil spill has prompted an aggressive discussion on how to improve safety, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Some ideas include restricting the passage of vessels in poor visibility, giving pilots better navigation tools and adding sturdier protections to the bases of bridges.
