No violations cited in death aboard Black Dog’s schooner

(VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass.) — A Coast Guard report said investigators found no maritime violations in the death of an 18-year-old crewman who was killed on the schooner Alabama, the Martha’s Vineyard Times newspaper reported. The young man fell from rigging while attempting to lay across the spring stay in July 2006. The 90-foot passenger vessel is part of the Black Dog company.
