190-foot yacht runs aground in Miami

The following is the text of a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard:

(MIAMI) — A safety zone has been established around a yacht that ran aground in Malloy Channel near Miami Beach, Fla., on Thursday.

Coast Guard Sector Miami watch standers received notification that the 190-foot motor yacht Unbridled ran aground with 14 people aboard at approximately 11:05 a.m. Coast Guard Station Miami Beach quickly launched a boat crew who assessed the scene and established a safety zone. As part of the safety zone, the Coast Guard is enforcing a temporary no wake zone around the yacht and boaters must remain at least 20 feet away.

No injuries have been reported. The yacht's owner has contracted Tow Boat U.S. to determine the condition of the vessel.
