Worker seriously injured when barge hits boat on Missouri River

(ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo.) — A barge being pushed upstream on the Missouri River struck a johnboat being piloted by a bridge worker, who was seriously injured in the collision, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. A police spokesman the tugboat captain sounded the boat's horn several times to alert the johnboat pilot, but apparently he didn't hear the warning. The boat capsized and went under the barge, trapping the man in the cabin.
