Washington ferry loses power, has to be towed to port

(BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash.) — The ferry Tacoma lost propulsion Tuesday afternoon and had to drop anchor before being towed to port, the Kitsap Sun reported. Tacoma, en route from Seattle with 405 passengers and 138 cars, was guided to Bainbridge by the tugboats Lindsey Foss and Pacific Knight. Officials at Washington State Ferries said engineers are trying to determine why the ship lost power.
