Va.-based ICL helps Port of Wilmington, N.C., boost cargo traffic

(WILMINGTON, N.C.) — Independent Container Line Ltd. begins weekly service at Wilmington today, the Star News newspaper of Wilmington reported. The 550-foot Independent Pursuit is due to call at the port today, as part of new regular service to Northern Europe. Virginia-based ICL will help the Port of Wilmington increase its cargo traffic by about 30,000 containers this year from 112,000 in 2008.
