U.S. hospital ship Comfort casts off for Haiti humanitarian mission

(ABOARD THE USNS COMFORT) — The hospital ship USNS Comfort has set sail from Baltimore after hasty preparations for its humanitarian duty in Haiti, the Baltimore Sun reported. The vessel is a converted oil tanker that is always on standby in Baltimore for deployment to large-scale medical emergencies. Tugboat were wrapped with sheets to prevent the ship’s white hull from getting bumper marks.
