U.S. Coast Guard preparing for more vessel traffic in Arctic

(OVER THE CHUKCHI SEA, Alaska) — The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing to prepare for more shipping traffic in the Bering and Chukchi seas, Reuters reported. At least 13 adventurist expeditions, mostly by sailboat, were mounted in the region this year. Adm. Christopher Colvin said there has been more open water in recent years, and the Coast Guard is actively seeking more information about vessel traffic.
