Two tugboats capsize near St. Lawrence River bridge

(CORNWALL, Ontario) — Two tugboats capsized in separate incidents Monday on the St. Lawrence River near Cornwall, resulting in one injury and the release of diesel fuel and hydraulic fluids into the water, the Ottawa Citizen reported. The first tugboat, Lac Manitoba, capsized and sank at about 4 p.m. near the North Channel Bridge. The second boat was attempting to put a wire around a pier to stabilize a nearby barge when it went under at about 8:30 p.m.
