Tugboat crews go on strike against New York’s Kosnac

(NEW YORK) — Tugboat crews went on strike against Kosnac Floating Derrick Corp. of New York, the New York Times reported. The local maritime division of the International Longshoremen’s Association says the company is trying to cut back on deckhands and make engineers do some of their work. The company says it has been manning 24-hour vessels at levels higher than its competitors and higher than the Coast Guard requires.
