(CORK, Ireland) — Transas, a global leader in professional marine navigation systems, has released a new version of Transas Pilot PRO, the best-in-class iPad-based chart plotter for professional pilots and mariners.
Transas Pilot PRO is designed to make the job easier for pilots and other marine professionals in their stressful daily routine, helping to maintain efficient pilotage and other onboard operations.
Version 2.0.5 includes Vessel Parking System (VPS), which ensures high precision docking thanks to real time audiovisual information on external objects and manual parking safe distance limits. Distances are shown between ship reference points and external objects, such as fender lines, the coastline, piers, jetties, drying height and AIS target contours. Customised fender lines can be created and imported/exported, and ROT beeper sounds enhance the precision. Parking Safe Distance limits can be manually set by the operator for each vessel.
In addition to monthly updated Transas iTX-97 marine vector charts, Pilot PRO features a number of functions requested by pilots specifically to improve their daily efficiency: Docking Mode, Ship Maneuvering Predictor, operation with AIS Class A transponder and third party pilot sensors over Wi-Fi, Weather Service, Internet AIS targets, Tide and Currents and many more.
The number of Pilot PRO customers is growing rapidly and includes many regional professional pilot associations. Contact your local Transas sales team to find out how this latest version can make your job easier too.
